The South Shore Regional Emergency Communications Center is committed to providing the most up to date and professional telecommunications services to
the residents, businesses and visitors of the communities we serve.
We work in partnership with all public safety departments to provide the highest quality emergency communications to all front-line emergency service responders,
so they may better their communities.

ABOUT US
What is a PSAP?
The South Shore Regional Emergency Communications Center (SSRECC) is the primary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for the Cohasset, Hingham, Hull and Norwell fire and police departments. Our Communication Specialists receive 9-1-1 calls and dispatch an emergency response, including police, fire and emergency medical services.

Emergency Medical Dispatch
Emergency medical dispatch (EMD) is a systematic program of handling medical calls for assistance. Our Communication Specialists are trained on locally approved EMD guide-cards to quickly and properly determine the nature and priority of the call, dispatch the appropriate response and give the caller instructions to help treat the patient until the responding EMS unit arrives.
Incident Command Coordination
From the 911 call to responders returning back to their posts; SSRECC tracks, logs and coordinates all aspects of an emergency response, including police, fire and EMS responses, as well as mutual aid.
