Deputy Director Johnathan Gordon has more than 34 years of experience working in the emergency services and 911 communications fields.

After graduating from Hingham High School in 1989, he immediately obtained his EMT license and worked as an EMT in the City of Boston and Norwell Fire Department.
In 1995, he joined the newly formed Town of Hingham Combined Police & Fire Dispatch Center located at the old police station at 169 Lincoln St. He helped launch the South Shore RECC where he served as 9-1-1 Dispatcher, Shift Supervisor, Administrative Supervisor as well as Massachusetts State 911 Liaison, Emergency Medical Dispatch Quality Assurance Manager before being promoted in 2021 to his current role as Deputy Director.

He has also worked as a Reserve Police Officer for the Town of Hingham, a Firefighter for the Town of Onset, and a Dispatcher for the Massachusetts State Police Regional Communications Center Troop D Headquarters in Middleboro, as well as the Florida Highway Patrol Regional Communications Center D Troop Headquarters in Orlando.
When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, riding his Can-Am Spyder F3 motorcycle, and taking trips to Nashville TN. He also volunteers with the New England Aquarium’s Marine Mammal Department caring for Atlantic harbor seals, Northern fur seals, and California sea lions. He volunteers at local horse stables as well.
He's no stranger to the towns the South Shore RECC serves. He has lived in three of them: Hingham, Cohasset, and Norwell.
